DFW Tours announces new Vice President, General Manager

DALLAS - Industry veteran Ron Heuer has been named vice president and general manager of DFW Tours effective immediately. He is based in Dallas, Texas.

Heuer¿s responsibilities include expanding DFW Tours¿ air consolidation operations in the U.S. as well as management of the Holiday House FIT and packaged vacations offered by DFW Tours.

"We are focused on expanding our air consolidation operations by targeting the luxury and group markets through accelerated sales and marketing efforts directed to the travel agency community."

Both units are subsidiaries of MyTravel Group, the United Kingdom based travel giant.

Heuer has over 30 years experience in executive posts with major tour operators, including; executive vice president/COO of Funway Holidays Funjet, president of Pleasant Holidays, vice president/GM, Thomas Cook and senior vice president travel industry sales at Universal Studios Florida. He also served as president of Universal Studios Vacations.

"Travel agent support is critical to DFW¿s future growth and we intend to sustain our support of the agency distribution channel," Heuer said. "We are building upon our dynamic packaging technology which will present agents with unique tools to build their business."

Expanding DFW¿s commissionable FIT programs will be a major goal. DFW can now offer FIT¿s in 17 countries and now represent over 30 airlines and 1,000 hotel and resort properties - including over 600 in sun destinations.
